Women Experts

“Women Experts and Feminism” is a biographical dictionary of women who addressed gender issues during the state-socialist period in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

The site was commissioned as part of a wider project coordinated by a team under the aegis of the Czech Institute of History, jointly funded by  the Czech Science Foundation and the National Science Centre, Poland

The aim of this digital archive was to make their biographies visible to the wider public and popularize their ideas. The reader is invited to reflect on common threads and ideas. Finally, it is hoped that the dictionary should encourage new research.

We previously worked with Websites Wanted to revamp our company website and have been extremely pleased with the results. So, when I started a new personal project, I knew immediately who to turn to for the website design. This time, the site required some complex mapping functionality, which Alex was able to achieve to our complete satisfaction. He was full of ideas for improving the site beyond our original vision, ensuring an excellent user experience throughout.

Thank you, Alex, for your enthusiasm and guidance on this project. It’s been great working with you again.
